Straight from the door onto the trail
When a group goes hiking, most of the time is lost at the start. Everyone piles into the cars, you hunt for parking, and then it turns out the trailhead has moved. At these houses, you skip all that. You step out of the yard and the trail begins. The routes run from four to twenty-two kilometers, so the group can split up and meet again in the afternoon.
For hiking and biking, you'll have the most room in two destinations. In Mullerthal , the trail starts behind the yard at some of the houses. In the High Fens , you walk out onto the moor on boardwalks, with loops you can shorten yourselves.

What you need
What to look for with a hiking group
A group comes back wet, and that matters more than the route itself. Ask Ingrid where you can put wet clothes in the house. She'll check with the owner.
- A drying room where twenty pairs of shoes can hang at once and actually dry
- A marked trail that starts at the yard, so you don't have to drive first
- Routes of different lengths, so fast and slow walkers can start together
- A kitchen where several people can make packed lunches together in the morning
What we take off your hands
We've known the Ardennes for 35 years and we know which destinations let you walk or bike into the woods straight from the front door. This selection only includes houses on or near marked routes. If you're not sure which destination suits your group's fitness level, ask Ingrid. She'll advise you, and you'll get one overview of all costs up front.
How do I know which house suits our group?
Don't just look at the maximum number of guests. The number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas, plus the layout of the house, are at least as important.
A group of twenty friends, for example, may want something very different from a family with kids and grandparents.
Not sure? Let us know what your group looks like. We're happy to help you make a good choice.
What is there to do in the Ardennes?
A lot. And that's exactly why we're so excited about this region.
Think hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, visiting caves, discovering castles, exploring charming towns, or simply enjoying time together around the house.
The options vary by region and season.
Can I ask you for advice?
We'd love that.
Tell us, for example, how many people are coming, what ages are in the group, when you want to leave, what region you're coming from, which amenities matter most, and roughly what you want to spend.
Then we'll help you think through which accommodations suit your group. You really don't have to compare dozens of homes yourself.
